Plântulas de S. tomentosa L. foram colocadas para crescer em resíduo industrial com elevada concentração de sais, com o objetivo de testar a capacidade de crescimento da espécie. Foi observado incremento em peso, sendo portanto possível a indicação da espécie para ser utilizada em áreas degradadas, que apresentem altas concentrações de sais.

Seedlings of S. tomentosa L. were grown in industrial residue with high salt concentration, with the aims of observe the growth capacity of the specie. The results showed an increase in the plant weight. The specie could be utilized to grown in area to be recovered, with high salt concentration.
