Os objetivos desta pesquisa foram de avaliar a magnitude da tensão de tração longitudinal em árvores de 11 clones de Eucalyptus; verificar a variabilidade existente entre os clones e; a variação em duas posições longitudinais (1,3 e a 3 m de altura). Pelos resultados verificou-se que o efeito de clone foi altamente significativo, enquanto que os efeitos de posição longitudinal e interação (clone x posição longitudinal) foram não significativos. A tensão média foi de 288 kgf/cm2, sendo de 279 e 296 kgf/ cm2 a 1,30 e a 3 metros de altura, respectivamente. A variação da tensão entre os clones foi de 139 a 448 kgf/ cm2.

The objectives this research were: a) to evaluate the magnitude of the strain of longitudinal traction in trees of eleven clones of Eucalyptus; b) to verify the existent variability between clones and; c) to verify the variation in two longitudinal positions (1.3 and to 3 m of height). The results showed that the clone effect was highly significant, while the effects of longitudinal position and the interaction (clone x longitudinal position) was not significant. The average tension was of 288 kgf/cm2, varying from 279 and 296 kgf/cm2 to 1.30 and 3 meters of height, respectively. The variation of the strain among the clones was from 139 to 448 kgf/cm2.
